Marie’s practice focuses on preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the mechanical, electrical, and computer arts. Marie has vast experience counseling companies of all sizes, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies to protect their innovations and secure business advantage. Marie is adept at quickly absorbing and retaining new information and using this skill-set to her clients’ benefit. To the IP portfolios of the companies she works with, Marie brings her in-depth knowledge of the workings of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and extensive experience and understanding of how to move an application through the patenting process.
Marie has experience as a patent practitioner for a large IP firm, as well as a large general practice firm, where her practice focused on patent prosecution and interference proceedings. Marie also served as a patent examiner for three years at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Marie examined U.S. and international patent applications in the data processing arts during her time as a patent examiner. She brings to the IP portfolios of the companies she works with her in-depth knowledge of the workings of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and extensive experience and understanding of how to move an application through the process.
Marie enjoys spending free time with her family, friends, and trio of pets, including two Great Pyrenees and Zipper the cat. Marie also enjoys reading, watching science fiction TV shows and movies, and spending time at the Oregon coast.
